Partner

Brian is a Partner at Gill, Godlonton and Gerrans Legal Practitioners. He joined the firm in January 2018. He holds a Master’s Degree in Commercial Law (LMCO) from the University of Zimbabwe. At master’s level, he specialised in banking law, tax law, advanced corporate law, advanced contract law, international trade law and procurement law. He also learnt extensively about international commercial arbitration & negotiation. He also holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) (Hons) degree from the University of South Africa, where he graduated with 17 distinctions.  

Brian was admitted as a Legal Practitioner and Notary Public in November 2015 and thereafter commenced his career in the same year, at the Judicial Service Commission of Zimbabwe as a Professional Research Assistant to judges of the Supreme Court and Constitutional Court of Zimbabwe, where he continued in this role until he joined Gill, Godlonton and Gerrans legal Practitioners as an Associate in January 2018.

He has significant expertise and experience in acting for businesses across all sectors. He is in the litigation department, where he champions dispute avoidance and resolution. His sharp acumen is witnessed mainly in commercial disputes, labour disputes, debt collection and criminal law. Brian has represented several companies in litigation in the superior courts of Zimbabwe. He has also rendered advice to several companies on cost-effective methods for resolving disputes.
