Sue is one of the senior partners at Gill, Godlonton & Gerrans and has been a partner in the firm for over 30 years. She holds an BL and LLB (Hons) from the University of Zimbabwe and LLM from Cambridge University.

Sue has a wealth of experience relating to a wide range of transactions particularly in relation to infrastructure projects, inward investments, structuring and securitisation.

Sue is recognised as a Leading Lawyer (Band 1) by Chambers Global.

  • 300MW Kariba South Hydro Electric Power Project (Zimbabwe) – acting for ZPC (the state electricity generating company of Zimbabwe) in connection with the high profile 300MW Kariba South Hydro Power Extension Project and transmission system upgrade with Sino-Hydro in Zimbabwe. The total project size is in excess of USD500,000,000 and funded by China Eximbank and Standard Bank. The project is supported by PPAs from NamPower and ZETDC.

  • 670MW Hwange Thermal Power Project (Zimbabwe) – acting for ZPC (the state electricity generating company of Zimbabwe) as international legal counsel in connection with the high profile project financing of the 2 x 335MW Hwange Thermal Power Expansion Project and joint venture with Sinohydro. The total project size is in excess of USD2,000,000,000.

  • 15MW Pungwe IPP Hydro Electric Power Project (Zimbabwe) – acting for Standard Bank of South Africa in relation to a complex ECIC backed export credit facility and related IPP 15MW hydro-electric power project in Zimbabwe.

  • 22MW Waste to Energy Project (Zimbabwe) – acting for Sesani in connection with a proposed 22MW Harare waste-to-energy project with the City of Harare, Zimbabwe.

  • 20MW Solar Rooftop Project (Zimbabwe) – acting for Oxygen in connection with a proposed 20MW rooftop solar power project with a major financial institution and European DFI participation.

  • Chitungwiza Joint Venture Water Project (Zimbabwe) – acting for Sesani on a potential water project with the Municipality of Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe.

  • Border Posts Project (Zimbabwe) – advising the lenders in relation to the ECIC supported project financing of Beitbridge.

  • Loan Market Association (Zimbabwe) – acting for the Loan Market Association (LMA) on the development of the Zimbabwean law loan agreement.

  • US $100 Million Solar Project – acting for the Joint Venture party in respect of a US100m solar project.

  • 12mw Biomass to Energy Project – acting for the Developer in respect of a 12mw Biomass Project

  • 2400MW Thermal Project – acting for the Developer in the development of a planned 2400MW thermal station
